A primary school in Bodmin is currently looking for a teaching assistant to work full time in their resource base starting in September. This is working 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday and term time only. The work will involve supporting students with additional needs. Students in the base will be diagnosed with conditions such as autism, ADHD and complex needs. Children within the base will have a separate learning space from other students in the main school, but not be completely segregated. They will have more adaptable learning provisions and a small team dedicated to helping them get the most out of their learning and still achieve and succeed in their educational journey. The school are looking for someone that can contribute to the inclusive environment and bring positivity, empathy, and patience to the role. The ideal person will be reliable, consistent in the schools’ policies around behaviour and a team player. Experience in school would be ideal but not essential, what we are really looking for is experience in supporting special needs, this could be from a job outside of education.
