If you are a HLTA, ECT, qualified primary teacher, secondary teacher or college lecturer looking for ad-hoc work, this is the perfect role for you. For this position, the daily rate of pay will be between £130-£150 a day. Many primary schools and secondary schools in Exeter work closely with Axcis Education, so frequent opportunities to work will be provided. Many schools will provide notice a day or two before cover is required, however, in some cases, you may need to step in to supply on the day. We ask mobile phones are switched on from 7.15 am so we can contact you for work on the days you are available. We also work in the East Devon and Torbay area. If you are willing to travel there would be more opportunities to keep you busy in the week. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of learning in the absence of regular teaching staff. You will be responsible for supervising classes, ensuring students remain engaged and on task, and managing classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies. You need to be confident when working with a classroom of students, able to use your own initiative, and keep your cool in potentially stressful situations. You'll work as part of a team, ensuring appropriate information is shared, and ensuring safeguarding of all students. If you are an early careers teacher, an experienced teacher looking to ease yourself back into work, or an experienced TA looking to upskill yourself, this may be the perfect role for you.
