Experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant – Special Needs School (South Harrow) Location: South Harrow Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) Contract: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: After the Easter holidays About the Role: Are you an experienced and compassionate Early Years Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our welcoming team at a Special Needs School in South Harrow. This role involves working closely with students aged 5-15, who have a developmental learning level from Reception to Key Stage One. Key Responsibilities: Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, tailored learning activities. Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment. Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. Encourage independence and provide personal care when necessary. Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children with ASD and SEMH needs. Background in Early Years education or supporting students functioning at a Reception to Key Stage One level. Strong understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping young learners thrive. A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 or equivalent) is desirable.
