Job Title: KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education is currently recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a KS2 class at a well established oversubscribed Special Needs Primary School in the Trafford area. This role requires a resilient, passionate individual ready to support children with complex autism, pre-verbal communication needs, and significant behavioural challenges. This position is ideal for a candidate with extensive experience in supporting children with complex needs, including autism, limited verbal abilities, and dysregulated behaviours. Working alongside the class teacher, you will play a key role in fostering a safe, inclusive environment where each child is supported to reach their potential. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-on-one and group support to children with complex autism and additional learning challenges. - Work closely with school staff to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and develop supportive, nurturing relationships with students. - Manage dysregulated behaviours calmly and effectively, utilising positive reinforcement and other behaviour management strategies. - Facilitate student's social, emotional, and communicative development, adapting to non-verbal communication needs. - Be physically and emotionally prepared to work with children requiring high levels of support, including assistance with daily tasks and personal care. This is a full time role starting ASAP. There is also a possibility for a temp to perm contract for the right candidate. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 3:30pm.
