Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
A fulfilling opportunity awaits in Slough for a passionate individual eager to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs. Starting in January 2025, this full-time position as a learning support assistant involves supporting students aged 4 to 18 with a variety of needs, including autism, PMLD, severe learning difficulties, SEMH needs and behaviours that require a compassionate approach. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with a starting daily pay rate of £83.40, which increases after 12 weeks.
In this role, you will be at the heart of creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include providing 1:1 or small group assistance tailored to each student’s unique needs, fostering trust and engagement and encouraging them to reach their full potential. You will also assist with personal care when required, ensuring every student is treated with dignity and respect. The role requires adaptability as you will work with different age groups and classes, adjusting your support to suit the specific dynamics and needs of each setting.
We are looking for someone who brings both compassion and flexibility to the role. Whether through personal or professional experiences, you should have some background in supporting individuals with special needs, whether in educational settings, care roles or at home. A positive attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful connections with students are essential. You should also be comfortable assisting with personal care and working in diverse classroom environments.
Joining our team means becoming part of a welcoming and inclusive community committed to making a difference. Along with competitive pay and a supportive environment, you will have opportunities for professional growth, making this role both rewarding and enriching.
