Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

The Role at a Glance: Position: SEND Teaching Assistant Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday to Friday Start Date: Trial periods available, with the EHCP expected to be finalised by 21 January 2025. Location: EN% (Barnet) Key Stage 2 classroom, supporting a Year 3 pupil with significant learning needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support for a Year 3 student working significantly below age-related expectations. Collaborate with the SENCO and class teacher to adapt and implement tailored learning resources and strategies. Offer flexibility to support another pupil in the class with similar challenges, including ASD, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. Assist in group activities when the primary student is able to work independently. About You: The ideal candidate will: Hold GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English and Maths. Be patient, adaptable, and eager to learn. Have excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and pupils. Show a willingness to follow guidance and implement strategies to support children with varying needs.
