Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Axcis Education is looking for Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join a mainstream secondary school in Finchley. This is a full-time role, providing support to students with additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
As an LSA, you will work closely with students across a range of subjects, providing one-to-one and small group support in and out of the classroom. Your role will involve adapting learning materials, assisting with lesson engagement, and promoting students’ confidence and independence.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting students in a secondary school setting and a strong understanding of SEN strategies. Patience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with additional learning needs in the classroom.
Assist teachers in adapting lesson materials to suit different learning styles.
Provide one-to-one and small group intervention where needed.
Help build students' confidence, engagement, and independence in learning.
Work collaboratively with teachers and the SEN team to ensure student progress.
Requirements:
Experience working in a secondary school setting is desirable.
A strong understanding of learning support strategies for students with SEN.
A patient, positive, and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or willingness to obtain one.
