We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team in Rochdale, Lancashire. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our mission to deliver a high standard of education while providing personalized support to our students, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
### Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEND/SEMH, especially those on the autism spectrum.
- Support the emotional, social, and academic development of pupils in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1).
- Use effective strategies to promote positive behavior and inclusivity within the classroom.
- Work in close collaboration with teachers and other professionals to assess and record students' progress.
- Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Participate in school meetings, training programs, and professional development activities.
- Comply with school policies and procedures including safeguarding and child protection guidelines.
- Engage with parents, guardians, and external agencies as and when required.
### Essential Criteria:
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent (childcare, health and social care, Degree in education).
- Possess a current Enhanced DBS Certificate on the update service.
- Demonstrable experience in working with young people.
- Experience with SEND/SEMH preferred, particularly with children who have Autism.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
