Axcis is working with a fantastic pupil referral unit in Caerphilly to recruit a Mental Health Classroom Assistant to support students aged 14 to 16 with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. Experience supporting mental health is essential for this role. This vacancy would be ideal for individuals with experience in the following roles: • Support Workers • Police • Army • Mental Health Workers • SEMH Teaching Assistants Key Responsibilities include: • Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment that focuses on the wellbeing of the students • Supporting the students in their academic progress and emotional well-being • Adapting the support given to the needs and ability of the individual students • Effectively minimising and handling meltdowns, outbursts, and disruptive behaviour The working hours for this role are from 8.30am to 3.30pm, with an hourly rate of pay of £14.66. Please note, this role is temporary, but the school is looking to recruit someone on a long-term contract starting on the 16th of September, Monday to Friday. The school will also consider part-time candidates if they are suitable for the role.
