Job Title: Mental Health Classroom Support
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? Are you seeking a role that is both rewarding and flexible? Axcis is collaborating with a fantastic pupil referral unit in Cardiff to recruit a Classroom Support Assistant. This role involves supporting students aged 14 to 16 with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. Experience in supporting mental health is essential for this position. This vacancy is ideal for individuals with experience in roles such as: • Support Workers • Police • Army • Mental Health Workers • SEMH Teaching Assistants Key Responsibilities: • Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment focused on students' wellbeing • Supporting students in their academic progress and emotional well-being • Adapting support to meet the needs and abilities of individual students • Effectively managing and handling meltdowns, outbursts, and disruptive behaviour Working Hours and Pay: • 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday • Hourly rate of £14.66 • Temporary role with a long-term contract starting on the 16th of September • Part-time candidates will also be considered if suitable for the role Requirements: • Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs • Strong communication and written English skills • Right to Work in the UK • Enhanced DBS on the update service • EWC Registration About Axcis: As sponsors of the National Autistic Society and other notable SEND organizations, Axcis is committed to its duty of care in the profession.
