Job Title: MLD Teaching assistant - Full Time - Primary
Location: Truro, Cornwall Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated MLD Teaching Assistant to join a modern and energetic primary school team in Truro. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for supporting children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and will contribute to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment conducive to students' learning and personal growth. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tailored support to children with Moderate Learning Difficulties, ensuring they can access the curriculum in an inclusive setting. - Work closely with the class teacher to plan and prepare learning materials and resources that accommodate the individual needs of students with MLD. - Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the national curriculum and school policies. - Facilitate small group and one-on-one sessions to reinforce learning objectives and aid in the development of students' academic skills. - Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback to the teacher and working in partnership with other professionals such as SENCOs and external support services. - Encourage positive behaviour and support the development of social skills, helping students to build confidence and independence. - Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to further enhance your expertise in supporting children with MLD.
