Job Title: One-To-One Teaching Assistant PMLD Experience
Position: 1:1 Support Worker
Location: Camden, London
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Camden. This role is focused on providing tailored support to a child with high needs, particularly in the areas of language development, communication, and personal care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a student who requires significant assistance with daily tasks and learning activities.
Implement strategies to support early language development, including intensive interaction and visual aids for transitions.
Assist with personal care as required, ensuring the child’s dignity and comfort at all times.
Work closely with the class teacher and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Adapt to the specific needs of the child and adjust support methods as required.
Essential Criteria:
Previous experience working with children with additional needs, ideally in a 1:1 capacity.
Knowledge and experience of using intensive interaction techniques and visual support strategies.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with developmental delays and communication needs.
Open to supporting with personal care when necessary.
A patient, caring, and flexible approach to working with children.
Ability to work as part of a team and liaise effectively with colleagues and parents.
A clear DBS check is required.
