Job Title: Outreach Workers
Axcis Education are working in partnership with an Alternative Education Provision based in Huddersfield, the school are looking for energetic and resilient outreach workers to support students on a 1:1 basis. The school caters for a diverse group of learners aged 4 to 16, with social emotional mental health needs and other associated conditions, who have been removed from mainstream education. The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and address barriers to learning for students with SEMH in order to support education engagement and academic progress. You will plan and deliver academic support in a variety of settings including school sites, community and the home, in accordance to the students learning pathway. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people with complex needs and have knowledge of looked after children, we are looking for someone who is able to quickly establish positive working relationships, engage and inspire! Responsibilities: Work with students on a 1:1 basis, addressing barriers to learning To plan and deliver targeted interventions to support students to develop independent living skills, academic progress and self-esteem. To support visits to college placements, work experience and onwards destinations as needed. This may include preparing travel plans and completion of any relevant paperwork. Implement innovative and engaging support packages to ensure maximum progress for students within your care. To be able to adjust your register to meet the needs of student with learning and emotional needs To support students who are in crisis, using a variety of de-escalation techniques To foster positive working relationships with students, parents, and the wider staff team Ensure student sessions are recorded and kept up to date, in order to track progress, attendance, engagement and behaviour Actively contribute in student review meetings, to ensure that support packages are meeting learner needs.
