Job Title: Part-Time SEND Teaching Assistant
Are you a kind, calm, and understanding individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? A welcoming primary school in Barnet is seeking a flexible part-time SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 3 (who should be in Year 4) with Global Developmental Delay.
Role & Responsibilities:
Provide individualised support to the child, helping them engage in learning and build confidence.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement strategies tailored to the child's needs.
Create a nurturing and encouraging environment, ensuring the child feels safe and valued.
Support the child with communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Adapt learning materials and activities to suit their pace and ability.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly Global Developmental Delay, is desirable.
A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A commitment to inclusion and helping every child reach their full potential.
