Job Title: PMLD Support Assistant
Axcis Education is looking for an experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist college in Haringey. This is a full-time role, starting in April, supporting students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Role Details: Position: PMLD Teaching Assistant Location: Haringey Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday Start Date: April Salary: Based on experience Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with PMLD. Assist in delivering individualised learning activities, focusing on communication, sensory engagement, and life skills. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement tailored education plans. Assist with personal care and mobility support, ensuring the dignity and well-being of students. Requirements: Previous experience working with PMLD students in an educational or care setting. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with complex needs. Knowledge of alternative communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton) is desirable. A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or willingness to obtain one.
