Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Position: Teaching Assistant (EYFS Reception Class)
Location: Mainstream Primary School, Widnes
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Contract Type: Permanent
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team at a large mainstream primary school in Widnes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a positive impact on their early learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's learning and development.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to children, helping them with early literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
Support children in meeting their personal care needs where required.
Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children to explore, play, and develop their skills.
Monitor and record children's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents.
Help with classroom management, setting up and tidying activities, and supporting a structured daily routine.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting is highly desirable.
A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Patience, creativity, and the ability to engage young children in learning through play.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
