Axcis Education are working with a small, nurturing SEND school in Exeter looking to expand their staff! They are seeking a full-time learning support assistant to work in a mixed ability class of no more than 8 students. You will be working with the Teacher and supporting the pupils. You must be able to adapt to a varied lesson with several students learning at different levels, as the school work at a primary education module. The school caters for around 90 students aged 11 – 18 who are school refusers, they have an education health care plan with SEMH, presenting high anxiety and autism. The children are very vulnerable, their wellbeing is the most important part of your role. You must be a strong and nurturing person, able to build trusting relationships and present calmness. The ideal candidate for this role must be someone who loves the outdoors, is a calm and approachable person and can build positive relationships with young people that may be withdrawn and anxious. A creative, outgoing and positive personality will fit in well with the rest of the team. The rate of pay is from £86 - £96 per day. This is a full time post working Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4.30. We are looking for people who are consistent and happy to start on a long-term basis. The children are affected by staff changes so it is vital that you commit to the hours if you are successful.
