Job Title: SEMH Support Teaching Assistant
Position: 1:1 SEMH Support Specialist Location: Haringey Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM Do you have the skills and dedication to support young people with complex needs? A warm and inclusive school in Haringey is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for boys with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience working with at-risk youth, who thrives in a supportive and dynamic educational environment. What You'll Do: Deliver personalised, one-to-one support to a designated student. Encourage both academic and emotional growth. Use effective de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe learning space. Collaborate with colleagues to create and implement tailored care plans. Keep accurate records of student progress and incidents. What We’re Looking For: Experience supporting boys with SEMH needs or working with vulnerable youth. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. A calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to behaviour management. Proven ability to manage challenging situations with patience and professionalism. Relevant training or certifications (e.g., safeguarding or behaviour management).
