Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Axcis are working with a fantastic SEMH school in Plymouth who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in with primary SEMH pupils who have am EHCP of SEMH and have been referred to the school for a short or long term basis. The school is a specialist SEND school, is well resourced, has a superb teaching team and you will be joining a team of TA's working with SEMH and ASC pupils, all pupils are primary aged and able to access mainstream education. All applicants must have grade C in Maths and English at GCSE level and it is preferable that you are educated to degree level. All candidates must have experience working with young people ideally as a teaching assistant with primary aged pupils. The school is a lovely place to work with supportive environments and has been described as having a positive and inclusive work ethos. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEND ideally as a TA. You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to the child you will be working with and will need to be able to establish a good working relationship with them. Resilience is an essential trait as some of the children have challenging behaviour. You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations.
