Are you experienced in working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours? We are looking for a committed and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join our secondary SEMH school in Bromley. In this role, you will support students in construction and motor mechanics, helping them develop both practical skills and confidence in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
• Assist students in construction and motor mechanics workshops, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and workshop staff to deliver practical and inclusive learning experiences.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
• Build positive relationships with students, promoting resilience, self-esteem, and a love for learning.
Requirements:
• Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs and managing challenging behaviours.
• An understanding of construction or motor mechanics (preferred but not essential).
• Strong communication skills, patience, and resilience.
• A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to students’ individual needs.
• A commitment to promoting inclusion and helping students achieve their potential.
