Job Title: SEN Teaching assistant Islington Primary
Location: Islington Contract Type: Full-Time Start Date: December 2024 We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with diverse needs across EYFS and Year 5. Key Responsibilities: EYFS (Mornings): Support two children with Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) needs. Assist a child who is visually impaired and requires daily medication (training provided). Work with a child with SEMH needs, helping to manage dysregulation effectively. Year 5 (Afternoons): Provide support to a child with High Needs ASC, speech needs, and a mental age of approximately 5, who has experienced significant trauma. Collaborate with teachers and external professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. What We Are Looking For: Experience working with children with SaLT, SEMH, and ASC needs. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children. Confidence in supporting children with medical needs (training will be provided). Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively across different year groups.
