Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Primary SEN School in EN1, supporting students in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) with Autism, non-verbal communication needs, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
Position Details:
Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Primary SEN School, EN1
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Full-time
Contract Type: Long-term, Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support for students with Autism, non-verbal communication needs, and SEMH difficulties.
-Assist in delivering tailored learning interventions and activities to meet the individual needs of each child.
-Support students with their social, emotional, and academic development, ensuring they are fully included in classroom activities.
-Use a variety of communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS, visual aids) to support non-verbal students.
Ideal Candidate:
-Previous experience working with SEN students, especially those with Autism and SEMH needs, is essential.
-Knowledge and experience of using communication aids (e.g., Makaton, PECS) is highly desirable.
-DBS clearance is required.
-Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach to working with children.
-Ability to commit to a full-time role on a long-term basis.
