Job Title: SEND PE Teacher Location: Leyland, Lancashire Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join a supportive and dedicated team at a well-respected secondary school in Leyland, Lancashire. This full-time, long-term position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Responsibilities: - Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated PE lessons that cater to the varying needs and abilities of SEND students. - Create a supportive and inclusive environment where all students feel encouraged to participate in physical activities and develop their skills. - Use a variety of strategies and tools to assess and record students' progress, achievements, and areas for development. - Collaborate with colleagues, including other SEND professionals, to coordinate support and ensure a cohesive approach to each student's education. - Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on students' progress and involving them in their child's learning journey. - Manage and organize resources, ensuring that equipment is safe and activities are risk-assessed. - Keep up to date with current developments in SEND education and PE, and participate in relevant professional development opportunities. Qualifications: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Physical Education or a related field. - Proven experience teaching PE, preferably within an SEND setting. - A strong understanding of the curriculum and the specific needs of students with SEND. - Ability to inspire and motivate students to enjoy physical activities and understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle. - Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to ensure the safety of all students during physical activities. - An empathetic and patient approach to teaching with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
