Job Title: SEND Secondary School Teaching Assistant, WR6
A secondary school in Worcester (W6) is looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time role provides the opportunity to progress into a permanent position, making it ideal for those looking to build a long-term career in SEND education.
Role Overview:
• Location: Worcester (W6)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay Rate: £89 - £100 per day
• Job Type: Full-time, with the potential to become permanent
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ASD and SEMH, ensuring their individual needs are met and supported
• Assist in implementing personalised learning strategies to help students engage in lessons
• Use behaviour management techniques to support students in developing positive coping strategies and managing emotions.
• Encourage students’ social and emotional development, helping them to build confidence, independence, and resilience.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to deliver effective support plans.
• Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and supported.
What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience working with children with ASD, SEMH, or other SEND needs (school-based experience is preferred).
• Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
• A passion for supporting young people in overcoming barriers to learning and helping them achieve their full potential.
