Job Title: SEND Support Assistant
Are you looking to work supporting young people in a wonderful, supportive and pupil-driven setting renowned for delivering Exceptional Support and Education? Axcis are thrilled to be supporting the recruitment needs of an exceptional setting in Bradford which supports pupils aged 3-19 with a diverse range of needs including severe, complex or profound and multiple learning difficulties as well as some additional needs such as Autism, Sensory Impairment and medical difficulties. The schools central ethos revolves around a holistic development of students, encouraging effective communication, positive social experiences and affording pupils the opportunity to develop and improve life skills, self-care, equality and responsibility to help underpin independence for all. If you have a passion for working with young learners, have experience in Care in the Community, Care Homes, Hospital Teaching or PMLD Schools then we would love to hear from you. Experience working with hoists, feeding & changing, intimate care, medicinal responsibility, PEG feeding and sensory learning is an advantage but the ability to engage with young learners with patience, care and warmth is critical. The role focusses on supporting each child as an individual and you will play a central part in that young persons development, helping them access the appropriate curriculum and encouraging learning and progress at their own pace whilst providing a calm and nurturing environment to ensure pupils safety. The school is open to individuals attending trial/shadow days to really learn how the school operates practically and from a pupil perspective, so we would encourage all applicants to be open to this.
