Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with SEMH needs? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at an SEND school in Orpington. This role offers the opportunity to provide academic and emotional support to students across English, Maths, Science, and PSHE, helping them build confidence and achieve their potential.
The Role:
Supporting primary and secondary students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
Assisting teachers in delivering structured, engaging lessons in core subjects (English, Maths, Science, PSHE).
Providing one-to-one and small group support to reinforce learning and understanding.
Encouraging emotional well-being and creating a positive, nurturing learning environment.
Implementing behaviour management strategies and promoting positive interactions.
Helping students develop essential social and life skills to support their personal growth.
Working Hours:
Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with SEMH students or in a SEND setting (preferred but not essential).
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young people.
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Passion for supporting learning in English, Maths, Science, and PSHE.
