Job Title: SEND Teacher in Reading
Are you a qualified teacher with experience in a SEND education setting in the UK? If so and you're seeking a flexible, stimulating and challenging teaching position for the upcoming academic year, we encourage you to apply for this role at an all-ages special school located in Reading. This position offers competitive pay and requires working hours from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, at least 3 days a week between Monday and Friday. Only candidates with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) are eligible. In this role, your responsibilities will include planning and delivering lessons across a range of subjects for children with special needs, catering to either primary or secondary age groups based on your experience. You will support the academic, social and emotional growth of all pupils by closely collaborating with other teaching staff, parents and carers. Additionally, you will provide individualised feedback on a one-to-one basis for pupils with varying needs and participate in parents evenings. To be considered, candidates must possess QTS and have some personal or professional experience supporting young people with special needs. You should be creative in making lessons inclusive and engaging for children with different needs, learning styles and abilities. Comfort in assisting teaching assistants with personal care when necessary is also required. Furthermore, you must be attentive, observant and vigilant, with a good understanding of various special needs, including ASD, SEMH and PMLD. A commitment to working at least three days a week is essential. This is a large special needs school catering to children with all types of SEND, most notably challenging behaviour, complex needs and PMLD.
