Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Here at Axcis we are looking for a friendly, creative SEND teaching assistant TA to join a special need SEND school in Swindon. The students in the school have a range of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, Asperger’s, Down Syndrome, SEMH, MLD and epilepsy. The school are tight-knit and encourage cross-class activities, lessons and play times. Each classroom has a qualified teacher as well as a minimum of two full-time teaching assistants, and class sizes range from 8 students to 14 in the larger classes. This role will likely be in the ADHD classroom; however, this is not set in stone yet. There are 9 pupils in this class, ranging from the age of 7 to 11 years old. The children really enjoy stories, music and being outdoors as much as possible. The school has a wonderful garden and forest school outdoors, so you will need to keep a spare of muddy shoes in the school! The successful candidate will: - Be creative and love getting covered in mud, water, or paint! - Have a great sense of humour and be able to laugh at the same joke over and over... and over again!! - Be friendly, approachable, and able to build rapports with pupils of various SEND needs. - Be committed to students' progression and be proud of their achievements! - Really enjoy working in a fast-paced, busy environment! - Be able to think on your feet and adapt to the moods of young people! - Be reliable and consistent.
