Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Taunton, Somerset Pay: £12 - £15 per hour (experience-dependent) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Contract: Temporary with the view to go permanent Are you passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) thrive? You’ll work closely with a small group of students, often in 1:1 or 2:1 settings, providing personalised support that helps them grow in confidence, independence, and life skills. Your Role: • Provide individualised support to students with SEND, adapting strategies to meet their unique learning and emotional needs. • Assist with classroom activities and ensure all students feel engaged, valued, and supported. • Build trusting relationships with students, boosting their confidence and fostering their social and emotional growth. • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to design and implement tailored learning plans. • Support students’ personal care needs with dignity and respect as required. About You: We’re looking for someone who is: • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to helping vulnerable children succeed. • Experienced in working with children, young people, or adults with SEND or learning disabilities in a school, care, or youth work setting (paid or voluntary). • Skilled in managing challenging behaviours calmly and positively. • A strong communicator who thrives as part of a collaborative team.
