About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support students across primary and secondary schools in Islington. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide individual and group support to students with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. Working closely with teachers and SENCOs, you will play a key role in helping students access learning in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
? Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEND
? Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities
? Support students' emotional and social development
? Encourage engagement and positive behaviour in the classroom
? Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to implement individual learning plans
Requirements
?? Experience working with children with SEND (school-based experience preferred)
?? A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
?? Strong communication and teamwork skills
?? A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Diploma) is desirable but not essential
?? An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
