SEND Teaching Assistant (ASD & SEMH) – Manchester (M18) – Immediate Start with Permanent Opportunity

A specialist school in Manchester (M18) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. Role Overview:
• Location: Manchester (M18)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay Rate: £89 - £100 per day
• Job Type: Full-time, with the potential to become permanent
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with ASD and SEMH, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Assisting in the implementation of personalised learning strategies, helping students to engage effectively in lessons.
• Using behaviour management techniques to support students in developing positive coping strategies.
• Encouraging students’ social and emotional development, helping them to build confidence and independence.
• Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to deliver effective support plans.
• Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment where students feel supported and valued.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children with ASD, SEMH, or other SEND needs (school-based experience preferred).
• A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children with additional needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build trust with students, staff, and parents.
• A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
