Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant (ASD & SEMH) – Bury (BL9) – Immediate Start with Potential for Permanent Role

A specialist school in Bury (BL9) is looking for a caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. Role Details:
• Location: Bury (BL9)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay Rate: £89 - £100 per day
• Job Type: Full-time, with the potential for a permanent role
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD and SEMH, helping them to engage and succeed in their learning.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of individualised learning plans to support each student's unique needs.
• Applying behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to encourage positive behaviour.
• Supporting students’ social and emotional development, promoting independence, confidence, and well-being.
• Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure effective, tailored support for each student.
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where all students feel supported.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children with ASD, SEMH, or other SEND needs (preferred but not essential).
• A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and how to implement them effectively.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach when working with children with additional needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• A genuine passion for supporting students with SEND and helping them achieve their full potential.
