Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Support Position: Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support Location: St Helens, Warrington, Runcorn Type: Full-Time Salary: £12- £15 per hour Start Date: September 2024 Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant specialising in SEMH, you will play a crucial role in the academic and personal development of students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create a nurturing and positive environment that encourages student engagement and success. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students to encourage trust and open communication. • Support classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment. • Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and well-being. • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student. • Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere that promotes emotional well-being and resilience. • Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
