**About the Role:**
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science and Maths teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join a secondary residential special school in Andover, Hampshire. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people aged 11-19 who have been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or associated disorders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Science and Maths that cater to the diverse needs of learners with ASC and SEND.
- Use innovative and effective teaching strategies to promote student engagement and facilitate learning.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for further improvement.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized education programs and support plans for students.
- Offer a safe, nurturing environment that encourages positive behavior and social interaction among students.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and keep abreast of current educational research, especially relating to special education needs.
- Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, assemblies, and school events.
- Maintain high professional standards and adhere to school policies, including those related to safeguarding and child protection.
**Requirements:**
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Have experience teaching Science and Maths at the secondary education level.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in working with students with ASC and SEND.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be creative, patient, and understanding, with a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons that accommodate different learning styles and needs.
- Proficiency in tracking and improving student achievement.
- Willingness to participate in continued professional development related to ASC, SEND, and subject-specific expertise.
