Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Challenging Behaviour
Axcis Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with challenging behaviour and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a primary school in Eastville, Bristol. This full-time, term-time only role (8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday) is ideal for someone passionate about helping children regulate their emotions and engage positively in learning. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges. • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to help pupils regulate their emotions. • Work closely with teachers, the SEN team, and external professionals to create a structured, nurturing environment. • Support pupils to engage with learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships. • Encourage resilience, independence, and emotional well-being in pupils. What We’re Looking For: • Experience working with children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, ADHD, or additional needs (preferred but not essential). • A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils. • Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and parents. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
