Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire Salary: £90 per day PAYE Job Type: Full Time We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Salisbury. As a Teaching Assistant for students with complex needs, you will play a pivotal role in enabling our students to achieve and thrive in a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tailored support to students with a variety of complex needs, including physical, emotional, and learning difficulties. - Assist in the development and preparation of learning materials that accommodate the diverse requirements of students with complex needs. - Facilitate inclusive classroom practices and engage students in a range of educational activities, promoting their academic, social, and emotional development. - Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher and contributing to reports on students' performance and well-being. - Foster a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages students to participate and progress. - Establish and maintain strong communication channels with students, staff, parents, and carers, ensuring that the specific needs of students are understood and effectively addressed. - Assist with the management of classroom behaviour, ensuring a constructive learning atmosphere. - Take part in ongoing professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and understanding of supporting students with complex needs. - Perform additional duties as required, which may include supporting students with personal care or mobility as appropriate. Requirements: - Experience working with children or individuals with complex needs is highly desirable. - NVQ Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification, or a willingness to work towards this. - Strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs. - An understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. - Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of educators and healthcare professionals. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Enhanced DBS disclosure or willingness to undergo DBS checks. - Flexibility and adaptability in a diverse and dynamic educational setting.
