Job Title: Teaching assistant
Position: Teaching Assistant Location: BB5 Salary: Day rate from Start Date: ASAP Axcis Education are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our primary school on an agency basis. You will provide essential support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCO. As part of a temporary arrangement, this role offers flexibility while allowing you to gain valuable experience in a nurturing school environment. You will support children in their learning, social development, and well-being, helping them reach their potential and engage fully in school life. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEND, helping to deliver differentiated lessons and activities. • Assist with implementing specific learning strategies, interventions, and adjustments based on children’s individual needs. • Support children in building social skills, regulating emotions, and managing behaviour. • Monitor and track progress, reporting back to the class teacher and SENDCO as required. • Encourage inclusion by ensuring children with SEND feel valued, understood, and involved in classroom activities. • Assist with personal care and other support as needed (depending on the child's needs). • Work closely with the teacher to maintain a positive, supportive learning environment for all pupils.
