**Description:**
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant school in Middleton, Greater Manchester. This rewarding role involves supporting the education and welfare of students in Key Stage 1 (KS1), with a focus on individuals with non-verbal autism. You will play a pivotal role in providing educational support and fostering a nurturing learning environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to prepare and deliver educational materials and activities
- Support individual students, especially those with non-verbal autism, ensuring they have access to learning opportunities
- Assist in the development of educational resources tailored to individual needs
- Engage with students one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives
- Observe and report on the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Establish a supportive and safe learning environment for all students
- Assist with the general welfare of students, including personal care if required
- Implement school policies and procedures to maintain discipline and structure within the classroom
- Collaborate with the broader educational team to promote inclusion and address any special educational needs
**Requirements:**
- Must possess a Child and Adult DBS on the update service
- Previous classroom-based experience is essential
- Primary experience is preferred, with a particular focus on supporting students with non-verbal autism
- A strong understanding of KS1 curriculum and teaching methods
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathetic and patient approach towards student learning and development
- Proven track record of supporting children to achieve educational goals
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with a range of learning needs and styles
**Additional Information:**
- Job Type: Full-time/Part-time (please specify your availability)
- Salary: £90 per day
- The successful candidate must be available to work during school hours and attend any required meetings or training sessions outside of these times.
