Job Title: Autism School Support worker
We are currently recruiting for a SEND specialist school based in Taunton. The school offer a flexible, inclusive education and a positive, vibrant learning community, for children and young people aged 7-19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs. Are you a caring person, who has always wanted to a career supporting the most vulnerable children in the community but not know what qualifications or training you need? Or have you been in education already and are disillusioned with the emphasis on exam results and OFSTED inspections? Or are you a graduate who wants to get valuable experience working in a psychological or educational environment? If so, you may be surprised to hear that specific teaching assistant training or experience is not required - Schools are far more interested in personalities (caring, patient, resilient), motivations and passions. There is not a one size fits all and the best TAs come from a variety of backgrounds. Here's just a few of the best examples: • Graduates: especially art, drama, psychology and criminology • Youth leaders • Support workers • Carers and Babysitters • Sports coaches We are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to start now and in September. When I first walked into this school I was taken aback by the clear passion and care of its support team. With a play area and forest school, every day is made fun and progress is determined on all aspects of development rather than just SATS results. If you want to be a part of changing lives and you think you are the right fit. Please get in touch immediately - I look forward to your hearing from you.
