Your Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students who require additional guidance with their behaviour and emotional regulation. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff, you will help create a positive and structured learning environment, ensuring that all students feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with behavioural challenges, helping them develop coping strategies and positive habits.
- Implement behaviour support plans in collaboration with school staff.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a positive role model.
- Assist in de-escalating situations and providing one-on-one mentoring.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture through proactive engagement.
- Work closely with parents, teachers, and external professionals to support student development.
Requirements:
- Experience in behaviour management, mentoring, or working with children with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting young learners.
- A background in sports, youth work, or psychology is beneficial but not essential.
