Job Title: Behaviour Specialist – Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education is delighted to be recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive two-form entry primary school located in central Bristol. This role offers the chance to make a real impact by supporting pupils with very challenging behaviours, helping them to thrive in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with challenging behaviours, helping them to engage with their learning.
• Implement tailored behaviour strategies to create a positive and structured environment.
• Work closely with the class teacher and pastoral team to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Promote resilience, confidence, and self-regulation in pupils.
• Foster a safe and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported.
The school places a strong emphasis on collaboration between staff, families, and the wider community, ensuring a holistic approach to each pupil’s development.
About You:
We are looking for candidates who:
• Have experience working with children displaying challenging behaviours (essential).
• Are resilient, empathetic, and able to maintain a calm demeanour in high-pressure situations.
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Are confident in implementing and adapting behaviour strategies.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Hours:
Full-time, term-time only: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.
