We are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant at a primary school in the vibrant area of Haringey. The school is in search of a teaching assistant with experience in managing challenging behaviour, to provide one-to-one support for a primary student with emotional and behavioural issues. Role Overview: This role involves providing crucial one-to-one support to a primary student with challenging behaviour. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored lessons and implementing personalised strategies to support the student's emotional and social development. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the student's individual needs. • Offer personalised support and guidance, focusing on the student's social and emotional well-being. • Apply effective behaviour management techniques to encourage positive behaviour and personal growth. • Work with the SENCO and other professionals to develop and maintain a tailored care plan for the student. Requirements: • Previous experience as a teaching assistant with a focus on managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable. • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with complex needs. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the student, staff, and parents/carers. • A deep understanding of the challenges related to managing challenging behaviour and strategies for effective support. • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification) and additional training in behaviour management are advantageous.
