Job Title: Food technician
Axcis Education are currently seeking a food technician, for a long term maternity cover role in a mainstream secondary school in Prestwich, starting September 2024. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the preparation and delivery of practical food lessons. - Maintain and organise the food technology classroom, ensuring all equipment is clean, safe, and ready for use. - Support teaching staff during lessons, providing hands-on assistance to students as needed. - Order and manage stock of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and available. - Implement and adhere to health and safety guidelines, including food hygiene standards. Requirements: - Relevant experience or qualifications in food technology or a related field. - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food preparation. Desirable: - Previous experience working in a school environment. - First Aid certification. - Familiarity with current educational practices in food technology. Enhanced DBS will be required.
