Location: Primary School in Islington, London Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support for Severely Autistic Student Start Date: ASAP About the Role: Axcis are pleased to be working with a mainstream school in Islington, who are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant who has experience in working with severely autistic students. Our vibrant primary school in Islington is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant who can start immediately. Key Responsibilities: • Provide consistent one-to-one support for a student with severe autism. • Assist the student in all aspects of learning and participating in classroom activities. • Implement behaviour management strategies. • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the student's needs are met. • create a safe and inclusive learning environment. • Monitor and record the student’s progress and give feedback to parents and caregivers. Requirements: • Previous experience working with children with severe autism is essential. • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with special educational needs. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with non-verbal students. • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently. • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable, but not essential.
