Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Axcis are seeking a dedicated and experienced HLTA to join our team at a friendly and inclusive primary school, working with a mixed Reception to Year 6 class of six pupils with complex needs. This is a long-term, full-time position, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require specialized support.
Position Details:
Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Primary School (Reception to Year 6 mixed class)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Full-time)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract Type: Long-term
Key Responsibilities:
-Supporting a small class of six children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
-Supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of the pupils, creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
-Assisting with planning, preparing, and delivering differentiated lessons and activities.
-Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records.
Essential Requirements:
-HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
-Proven experience working with children with complex SEND.
-Ability to develop positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
-A strong understanding of SEND strategies and child development.
-DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

-Enthusiastic, patient, and compassionate with a commitment to supporting all learners.
-Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the varying needs of the pupils.
-Previous experience in a primary school setting.
