Axcis Education are working with a local mainstream primary school in Tameside (Ashton-under-Lyne) who are looking to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with students in KS2. The role involves working closely with the classroom teacher to enhance the teaching and learning experience, ensuring each student receives the support they need to succeed both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons that meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they are fully included in classroom activities.
- Help monitor and record student progress and behaviour, contributing to assessments and reporting as required.
- Create a positive and nurturing learning environment that promotes respect, motivation, and a love of learning among students.
- Support the teacher in the preparation of classroom resources and materials, ensuring that they are accessible and relevant to the curriculum.
- Assist in the management of classroom behaviour, implementing school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Supervise students during break times and transition periods, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Engage with parents and caregivers as appropriate, supporting home-school communication regarding student progress and welfare.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and development opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
