About the Role
As an LSA, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Working within the School of Academic & Vocational Support, you will:
Empower learners: Help students with SEND and EHCPs engage in their studies and thrive academically and socially.
Promote progress: Encourage independent learning and assist students in achieving success in their chosen courses.
Foster inclusion: Collaborate with teachers and specialists to create supportive and engaging classroom environments.
Build confidence: Motivate students to actively participate, build relationships, and grow their self-esteem.
What You’ll Do
Tailored support: Implement individual learning programs designed by teachers and specialists, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists.
Track progress: Monitor achievements, maintain detailed records, and contribute to student reviews and assessments.
Ensure welfare: Promote the safety and well-being of students, encouraging interaction and engagement.
Collaborate effectively: Work closely with parents, teachers, and external professionals to create a strong support network.
Be flexible: Participate in college events like open days and parent evenings, while embracing professional development opportunities.

Experience working with children or young adults with SEND.
A compassionate, adaptable, and proactive approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to promote independence in learners.
