Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a provisional unit in Knowsley, working one-on-one with students who present challenging behaviour and have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Job Description: As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in this role, you will be instrumental in providing individualised support to a student with complex SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. Your responsibilities will include: • 1:1 Support: Work closely with a specific student, offering tailored support and intervention to facilitate their learning and development. • Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support the student in overcoming barriers to learning and promoting positive behaviour. • Emotional Support: Provide emotional and social support to the student, helping them to develop resilience and coping strategies. • Academic Assistance: Assist the student with their academic work, helping them to understand and complete tasks, and reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher. • Monitoring Progress: Track and report on the student’s progress, identifying areas of improvement and adapting support strategies as necessary. • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans. • Resource Preparation: Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of the student. • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the student at all times, adhering to school policies and procedures. Requirements: • Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. • Fully Enhanced DBS • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour is essential. • Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations. • Knowledge: Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with SEMH needs. • Commitment: Dedication to making a positive impact on the student’s educational journey and overall well-being.
