Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary with the view to go permanent
About the Role and School:
Axcis Education is working in partnership with a well-established special needs school in Wiltshire that supports students with a range of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school fosters a positive, inclusive environment where children are encouraged to thrive academically and socially. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis, helping them manage their emotions, stay engaged in learning, and develop essential life skills. You will assist with behaviour management, support emotional regulation, and create a calm, structured environment to help students reach their full potential within a school setting.
Responsibilities:
• Provide individualised support for students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
• Implement strategies to manage behaviour, keeping the student engaged and motivated.
• Assist with academic tasks, ensuring that students remain on track with their learning.
• Help create a positive, nurturing atmosphere in the classroom.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create tailored support plans.
Requirements:
• Experience supporting children with SEMH or SEND is highly desirable.
• Patient, reliable and adaptable with a supportive, caring attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Confident in managing and supporting students with challenging behaviour in a calm, positive way.

Additional Information:
• Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
• Pay: £83.40 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
• This role is permanent, with the possibility of starting as temporary.
