Axcis Education are working with an Alternative Provision that caters to young people with complex emotional and social needs, including those diagnosed with Autism and other related conditions. Their nurture groups provide consistency, structure, and support, helping young people feel comfortable and regulated in a familiar environment. They deliver core subject learning in a therapeutic, outdoor-focused approach, using nature and the wider world to contextualise topics and foster social skills and communication. The Role: As a key worker, you will work closely with young people, tailoring the learning environment to their individual personalities, needs, and goals. A key part of this role is building trust and positive relationships with the students to help them develop emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence. Key Responsibilities: • Create a calming, supportive environment that encourages expression and trust. • Use therapeutic approaches and alternative delivery methods to meet the needs of students. • Help students develop positive social and communication skills through contextualised learning experiences. • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing and progress. Requirements: • Experience working with young people with complex emotional and social needs, including Autism. • A background in alternative provision or similar settings is highly desirable. • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and experience using alternative delivery methods. • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to create a trusting, supportive learning environment. • A commitment to outdoor learning and using nature to support educational outcomes.
